It is a premium rugged smartwatch designed for users who demand long battery life, advanced GPS navigation, durable construction and extensive fitness tracking. It combines a large 51mm body with Grade 5 titanium hardware, sapphire glass, a 3,000-nit AMOLED display and 10 ATM water resistance. At the heart of the Ultra 2 is an 870mAh battery that can deliver up to 30 days of typical use. For outdoor adventures, it supports up to 50 hours of accurate GPS tracking, 90 hours in power-saving GPS mode and up to 177 hours in GPS Max Battery Life mode. The watch also provides 64GB of total storage, allowing users to store substantial amounts of maps and other data directly on the device. It supports offline navigation, making it particularly useful for hiking, trail running, camping and other activities where smartphone connectivity may not be available. Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 Design and Build The T-Rex Ultra 2 is built around a large 51 × 51 × 14.3mm case. Its case uses fiber-reinforced polymer, while the bezel, buttons and back panel use Grade 5 titanium. This combination provides a rugged construction while keeping the watch lighter than an equivalent all-metal design. The watch weighs approximately 89.2g with the strap. Without the strap, Amazfit lists the weight at approximately 67.5g. The supplied silicone strap is 26mm wide and fits wrists measuring approximately 145–215mm. Four physical buttons provide control in situations where touchscreen operation may be inconvenient, such as during workouts, in wet conditions or while wearing gloves. The rugged design is intended for demanding outdoor environments, while the titanium components provide additional durability and a premium appearance. Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 Display The T-Rex Ultra 2 features a 1.5-inch AMOLED display with a 480 × 480 resolution and 322 ppi. AMOLED technology provides high contrast and vibrant colours, making maps, workout information and notifications easy to read. The display reaches up to 3,000 nits peak brightness, making it particularly well suited to outdoor use in strong sunlight. Instead of conventional glass, Amazfit uses sapphire glass for the touchscreen. Sapphire provides significantly greater scratch resistance than ordinary smartwatch glass, which is particularly useful on a watch designed for hiking, climbing and other demanding outdoor activities. Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 Health and Fitness Tracking The T-Rex Ultra 2 uses the BioTracker 6.0 PPG biometric sensor with a 5PD + 2LED configuration. It works together with the watch’s other sensors to provide health and fitness measurements throughout the day and during workouts. Additional sensors include an accelerometer, gyroscope, geomagnetic sensor, barometric altimeter, ambient light sensor and temperature sensor. For athletes, the watch provides advanced performance information through PeakBeats, including workout status and training-related metrics. The watch also works with Zepp Coach to provide personalised training guidance. Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 Sports Tracking The Ultra 2 supports 187 sports modes, covering activities such as running, cycling, swimming, hiking, strength training, trail running and diving. It can automatically recognise selected strength-training movements and sports activities. Users can also create training templates through the Zepp App and create interval workouts directly on the watch. Advanced running features include Track Run mode, smart trajectory correction and virtual pacer. The watch can also connect to compatible external fitness accessories, including heart-rate belts, running power meters, cycling power meters, speedometers and cadence sensors. Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 GPS and Navigation Navigation is one of the Ultra 2’s strongest features. It uses dual-band positioning, six satellite positioning systems and a circularly polarised GPS antenna to provide accurate outdoor location tracking. The watch supports preloaded offline maps, base maps, contour maps and ski-resort maps. It also supports turn-by-turn directions, POI search, route planning, round-trip route creation and automatic rerouting. Because maps can be used offline, the Ultra 2 is particularly useful for hiking and trail activities where mobile network coverage may be unreliable or unavailable. The large 1.5-inch display and 3,000-nit brightness also make route information easier to view outdoors. Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 Storage The Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 comes with 64GB of internal storage, with approximately 26.7GB available for user data. The large storage capacity is particularly useful for an outdoor smartwatch because it allows the device to store substantial map and navigation data locally. This makes the Ultra 2 more suitable for extended outdoor trips where users may want to rely on offline maps instead of continuously using a smartphone. Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 Flashlight The watch includes a built-in dual-color LED flashlight capable of producing white or green light. It provides a convenient source of illumination when camping, hiking at night, checking equipment or navigating dark areas. Having the flashlight integrated into the watch means you can illuminate your surroundings without having to take your smartphone out of your pocket or carry a separate torch. Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 Bluetooth Calling The T-Rex Ultra 2 has both a built-in speaker and microphone. When connected to a compatible smartphone, it can handle Bluetooth phone calls directly from the watch. The microphone and speaker also support voice-related functions, providing hands-free interaction with supported smartwatch features. The watch does not have cellular/LTE connectivity, so Bluetooth calling requires a compatible paired smartphone. Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 Water Resistance and Diving The T-Rex Ultra 2 has a 10 ATM water-resistance rating. Amazfit states that the watch is certified for diving and supports depths of up to 45 metres, making it suitable for freediving and recreational scuba diving. The watch also provides dedicated diving information and depth measurement. Amazfit’s documentation specifies a maximum measurement depth of 45 metres and provides depth-measurement accuracy requirements based on the EN13319 diving-equipment standard. Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 Battery Life The T-Rex Ultra 2 is equipped with a large 870mAh battery. This gives it substantially longer endurance than many conventional smartwatches. Typical use: Up to 30 days Heavy use: Up to 15 days Always-On Display mode: Up to 10 days Accurate GPS: Up to 50 hours Power-saving GPS: Up to 90 hours GPS Max Battery Life: Up to 177 hours Trail Running Normal Mode: Up to 44 hours Trail Running Heavy Mode: Up to 30 hours Low-temperature GPS mode: Up to 40 hours Low-temperature mode with GPS off: Up to 32 days Actual battery life depends on factors such as GPS usage, display settings, health monitoring, Bluetooth connectivity and environmental conditions. Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 Low-Temperature Mode The Ultra 2 is designed for use in extremely cold environments. Amazfit provides a low-temperature mode that allows the watch to operate in temperatures as low as -30°C. In this mode, some functions—including touchscreen operation—may be restricted. Amazfit’s manual states that the low-temperature mode is designed for environments between -30°C and -10°C and that certain features cannot be used while the mode is active. This makes the feature particularly relevant to mountaineers, winter hikers, ski enthusiasts and other users operating in extremely cold environments. Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 Smart Features and Connectivity The T-Rex Ultra 2 runs Zepp OS 5 and connects to compatible smartphones through Bluetooth 5.2 and Bluetooth Low Energy. It also supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. The watch works with the Zepp App, which provides access to health information, workout history, watch settings, additional applications and other smart features. It supports Android devices running Android 7.0 or later and iPhones running iOS 15.0 or later.
