It is a desktop-mounted microphone arm designed to position a microphone securely and conveniently during podcasting, live streaming, broadcasting, vlogging, online meetings and other voice-recording applications. It uses a C-clamp to attach to a desk or table and provides adjustable positioning through its articulated arm and hinge controls. The arm supports microphones weighing up to 1kg (2.2lb), making it suitable for a broad range of compatible broadcast, dynamic and condenser microphones. BOYA BY-BA30 Key Features Supports Microphones Up to 1kg The BY-BA30 is designed to support microphones weighing up to 1kg (2.2lb). This gives it sufficient capacity for many common studio, broadcast and content-creation microphones. Adjustable 430mm Horizontal Reach The BOYA BY-BA30 provides a maximum horizontal reach of 430mm. This allows the microphone to extend toward the user while the boom arm remains attached to the edge of the desk. 663mm Vertical Reach The arm has a maximum vertical dimension of 663mm according to BOYA’s current product specification. This provides substantial adjustment range for positioning a microphone at different heights above a desk. The available range can be useful when switching between seated recording, streaming and other desktop recording arrangements. Adjustable Hinge Controls Adjustable hinge controls allow the arm to be repositioned according to the user’s preferred microphone position. This makes it possible to bring the microphone closer while recording and move it away when it is not required. For podcasting and streaming, adjustable positioning can also help keep the microphone at a consistent distance from the speaker, which can contribute to more consistent recording levels. C-Clamp Desk Mount The BY-BA30 attaches to a desk or table using a C-clamp. This keeps the microphone arm anchored to the desktop without requiring a permanent hole or dedicated floor stand. BOYA describes the C-clamp as a durable mounting system designed for table attachment. The manufacturer’s manual recommends installing the clamp on a suitable flat desk surface rather than on a surface with bumps or hollows. Built-In Cable Management One of the practical features of the BY-BA30 is its integrated cable catch. The microphone cable can be routed along the boom arm rather than hanging loosely across the desk. This helps keep the recording area more organised and reduces cable clutter around the microphone stand. The hidden-channel cable management is specifically intended for applications such as podcasting, live streaming and content creation. 5/8-Inch to 3/8-Inch Threading Adapter The BY-BA30 includes a 5/8-inch to 3/8-inch threading adapter to provide compatibility with microphone mounts and accessories using different standard thread sizes. This makes the arm suitable for a wide range of compatible microphone mounting arrangements. However, the microphone itself must have a compatible mounting system or be used with an appropriate shock mount or adapter. Suitable for Podcasting and Streaming The BY-BA30 is designed for desktop audio applications including podcasts, live streams, vlogging, online meetings, gaming and other content creation. Its desk-mounted design keeps the microphone elevated and allows it to be repositioned when required. Professional Broadcast Microphone Design BOYA positions the BY-BA30 for use with professional broadcast microphones. Its combination of adjustable positioning, desktop mounting, cable management and a 1kg load capacity makes it suitable for creators who want a more permanent microphone setup than a basic tabletop stand.
