It is a versatile desktop condenser microphone designed for podcasting, streaming, gaming, online meetings, voice-over recording and content creation. Unlike a conventional USB-only microphone, it supports both wired and 2.4GHz wireless operation. The microphone offers four selectable pickup patterns—cardioid, omnidirectional, bidirectional and stereo—allowing users to adjust sound capture for different recording situations. It also supports 24-bit/48kHz audio, real-time headphone monitoring and up to 6 hours of wireless operation. The BY-PM740 uses a desktop stand and adjustable microphone positioning, making it suitable for home studios, offices and portable recording setups. Wired and Wireless Connectivity The BOYA BY-PM740 supports both wired and wireless operation. Its 2.4GHz wireless connection allows users to record without a direct audio cable between the microphone and receiver, while the wired connection provides an alternative when wireless operation is not required. Four Selectable Pickup Patterns The microphone provides four pickup patterns for different recording applications: Cardioid: Focuses primarily on sound from the front and is suitable for solo recording, streaming and voice-over work. Omnidirectional: Captures sound from multiple directions and can be useful when recording a group or ambient sound. Bidirectional: Captures sound from the front and rear, making it suitable for conversations between two people positioned opposite each other. Stereo: Captures sound across a stereo field for selected music, instrument and multi-source recording applications. 24-bit/48kHz Audio Resolution The BY-PM740 supports 24-bit/48kHz recording resolution. The 24-bit depth provides additional digital headroom for recording and editing, while the 48kHz sampling rate is commonly used for video production, streaming and voice recording. 20Hz–20kHz Frequency Response The microphone is listed with a frequency response of 20Hz–20kHz. This range covers a broad portion of the audible frequency spectrum and is suitable for recording speech, vocals and other audio sources. Headphone Monitoring The integrated 3.5mm headphone jack allows users to monitor audio through headphones. This helps creators listen to their recording signal while working on podcasts, streams, voice-overs and online content. Headphone monitoring can help identify excessive background noise, incorrect microphone positioning and unsuitable recording levels before completing a recording. Up to 6 Hours of Wireless Battery Life The built-in rechargeable battery provides up to approximately 6 hours of wireless operation according to available product listings. This allows the microphone to be used for mobile recording sessions without remaining connected to a power source throughout the session. Actual battery life depends on usage, wireless conditions, volume settings and battery condition. The microphone can also be used through a wired connection when supported by the connected equipment. Gain, Volume and Mute Controls The microphone includes physical controls for adjusting microphone sensitivity and headphone monitoring volume. A mute function allows users to temporarily disable the microphone during meetings, live streams or recordings. Hardware controls provide faster access to essential settings without requiring users to open their recording software. Noise Reduction The BOYA BY-PM740 includes a noise-reduction function designed to help reduce unwanted background noise. This can be useful for streaming, online calls, podcasts and voice recording. Adjustable Desktop Stand The included desktop stand allows the microphone to be positioned toward the speaker. The adjustable design makes it easier to change the microphone angle for different recording setups. The microphone can also be mounted on compatible equipment using the supported mounting threads, subject to the correct adapter and stand configuration.
