Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Can the Insta360 X4 record long 8K 360° videos without issues? The camera supports 8K 30fps 360° recording, but users report heat-build up and shorter runtimes in that mode (~75 mins lab) under ideal conditions. Use 5.7K or 4K modes for longer sessions. Do I get full 8K resolution after reframing in post-production? In many workflows the final exported frame after reframing may be less than native 8K due to cropping/selection. Several users note that effective output may resemble lower resolution if large zoom or crop is applied. What type of microSD card should I use? For 8K/30fps footage you will need a high-speed card (UHS-I U3/V30 or faster) to avoid “SD card too slow” errors. Several users have reported failures with slower or counterfeit cards. Is the camera suitable for underwater use? Yes — the body is waterproof to 10 m without housing; for deeper use (e.g., 60 m) a dedicated dive case is required.
