iPhone 18 Pro Max

iPhone 18 Pro Max Price in Kenya & Full Review The Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max price in Kenya ranges between KSh 260,000 – KSh 495,000Price range: KSh 260,000 through KSh 495,000 . It is Apple’s flagship Pro Max smartphone for 2026, combining a large 6.9-inch OLED display, the new A20 Pro processor, an upgraded 48MP Pro Fusion camera system and Apple’s longest battery life yet on an iPhone. The biggest camera change is the 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture. Unlike previous iPhones with a fixed main-camera aperture, the iPhone 18 Pro Max can adjust the aperture between ƒ/1.48, ƒ/1.8, ƒ/2.8 and ƒ/4.0. This provides greater control over exposure and depth of field, particularly when shooting portraits or scenes with different lighting conditions. For performance, Apple has introduced the A20 Pro, built using a 2nm process. It combines a 6-core CPU, 7-core GPU with Neural Accelerators and a Dual 16-core Neural Engine. Apple says the GPU can be up to 40% faster than the A19 Pro, while memory bandwidth is increased by 50%. Design and Display 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR OLED Display The iPhone 18 Pro Max features a 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with a resolution of 2868 × 1320 pixels at 460 pixels per inch. The display uses an all-screen design with rounded corners and supports Apple’s ProMotion technology with adaptive refresh rates of up to 120Hz. The 120Hz ProMotion system allows the display to dynamically adjust its refresh rate depending on what you are doing. Scrolling, gaming and supported animations can therefore appear smoother, while lower refresh rates can be used when high refresh rates are unnecessary. High Brightness The display reaches 1,000 nits typical brightness, up to 1,600 nits peak brightness for HDR content and up to 3,000 nits outdoors. It also supports HDR, True Tone, P3 wide colour and a 2,000,000:1 typical contrast ratio. Always-On Display and Dynamic Island The iPhone 18 Pro Max retains the Always-On display and Dynamic Island. Apple has redesigned the Dynamic Island so it can display up to three Live Activities simultaneously, providing more information without requiring users to leave the current screen. Ceramic Shield 2 The phone uses an aluminum unibody design with Ceramic Shield 2 on the front and Ceramic Shield on the back. Apple also rates the device IP68 for splash, water and dust resistance, with a maximum tested depth of 6 metres for up to 30 minutes under IEC 60529. A20 Pro Performance 2nm A20 Pro Chip The A20 Pro is the main performance upgrade in the iPhone 18 Pro Max. It is manufactured using a 2nm process and contains a 6-core CPU consisting of two performance-focused super cores and four efficiency cores. The chip also has a 7-core GPU with integrated Neural Accelerators and hardware-accelerated ray tracing. Apple says the A20 Pro provides 50% more memory bandwidth than the A19 Pro, while its new 7-core GPU can deliver up to a 40% performance improvement over the previous generation. This makes the iPhone 18 Pro Max particularly suited to demanding games, video editing, computational photography and on-device AI workloads. 32-Core Neural Engine The A20 Pro incorporates a Dual 16-core Neural Engine, giving the chip 32 Neural Engine cores in total. These are designed to accelerate on-device artificial intelligence and machine-learning workloads, including computational photography and Apple Intelligence features. Next-Generation Vapor Chamber Apple has redesigned the iPhone 18 Pro Max’s thermal management system around a larger vapor chamber. Apple says the new chamber has three times the surface area of the previous generation and can enable up to a 40% gain in sustained performance compared with the iPhone 17 Pro generation. This is particularly useful for activities that maintain a high processor load for long periods, such as gaming, 4K video recording and intensive AI processing. Professional Camera System 48MP Fusion Main Camera with Variable Aperture The main camera is a 48MP Fusion camera with a variable aperture covering ƒ/1.48, ƒ/1.8, ƒ/2.8 and ƒ/4.0. It uses second-generation sensor-shift optical image stabilisation and 100% Focus Pixels. The camera can capture super-high-resolution 24MP and 48MP photographs. The variable aperture is one of the biggest changes to the iPhone camera system. A wider aperture can allow more light into the sensor and create a shallower depth of field, while narrower settings can provide greater depth of field. The aperture can also be controlled through the new Pro camera controls. 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide Camera The 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera has a 13mm equivalent focal length, ƒ/2.2 aperture and 120-degree field of view. It supports 24MP and 48MP high-resolution photographs as well as 48MP macro photography. 48MP Fusion Telephoto Camera The 48MP Fusion Telephoto camera uses a tetraprism design and provides a 100mm equivalent 4x optical telephoto view. It also supports an optical-quality 8x telephoto view equivalent to 200mm. Apple specifies 3D sensor-shift optical image stabilisation and autofocus for this camera. The system offers an 8x optical-quality zoom in, 2x optical zoom out and a 16x optical-quality zoom range, with digital zoom reaching up to 40x for photos. Pro Camera Controls The iPhone 18 Pro Max adds dedicated Pro controls for camera settings including aperture, shutter speed, white balance and histogram viewing. This gives photographers more direct control over image capture instead of relying entirely on automatic processing. 18MP Center Stage Front Camera The front camera is an 18MP Center Stage camera with an ƒ/1.9 aperture and autofocus with Focus Pixels. It supports Center Stage for photos and video calls, tap-to-zoom and rotate, Dual Capture and ultra-stabilised video. Professional Video Recording The iPhone 18 Pro Max is designed for professional video production. Its Fusion Main camera can record 4K Dolby Vision video at up to 120fps, while Cinematic mode supports up to 4K Dolby Vision at 60fps. The phone also supports ProRes recording up to 4K at 120fps when recording externally. Other professional video features include ProRes RAW, Apple Log 2, Academy Color Encoding System, Genlock support, Dual Capture, macro video recording and 4K Dolby Vision slow-motion video. Genlock support is particularly relevant to professional multi-camera production workflows because it allows compatible cameras and devices to synchronise their video timing. Battery Life and Charging The iPhone 18 Pro Max delivers Apple’s longest-rated iPhone battery performance to date. Apple rates it for up to 30 hours of typical use, 45 hours of video playback and 40 hours of streamed video playback. Fast Charging Using a compatible 60W-capable power adapter or higher with Adjustable Voltage Supply and a USB-C charging cable, the iPhone 18 Pro Max can reach up to 50% charge in approximately 15 minutes. With a 35W or higher adapter and MagSafe Charger, it can reach up to 50% in approximately 30 minutes. Just 5 minutes of wired charging can provide approximately seven hours of video playback on the iPhone 18 Pro Max. USB-C, MagSafe and Wireless Charging The iPhone 18 Pro Max uses USB-C for charging and wired connectivity. Its USB-C port supports DisplayPort and USB 3 data transfer at up to 10Gb/s. This is useful for transferring large ProRes or ProRes RAW video files to compatible computers and external storage. Wireless charging supports MagSafe up to 25W and Qi2 up to 25W. 5G, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 The iPhone 18 Pro Max supports 5G, Gigabit LTE, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. Apple also includes its N1 wireless networking chip, second-generation Ultra Wideband technology and Thread networking support. For Kenyan users, the phone supports the major cellular bands used for 4G and 5G connectivity, but actual 5G availability and performance depend on the network operator, coverage and the specific regional model. Apple C2 Modem The iPhone 18 Pro Max uses Apple’s C2 cellular modem system. Apple says C2 improves cellular quality and reliability while using 15% less energy than C1X, with faster uploads and mmWave support in the U.S. Apple Intelligence and Siri AI The iPhone 18 Pro Max runs iOS 27 and supports the next generation of Apple Intelligence. The new Siri AI is designed to be more personal and conversational, with personal-context understanding and onscreen awareness. Siri AI is rolling out as a beta, with availability dependent on language and region. The A20 Pro’s Neural Engine is used to accelerate on-device AI processing, helping the phone handle supported Apple Intelligence features while maintaining Apple’s emphasis on privacy and local processing.
