It is Samsung’s latest premium smartwatch designed for users who want advanced health monitoring, AI-powered assistance, improved performance and longer battery life. It introduces the new Snapdragon® Wear Elite Platform, a brighter 3,000-nit AMOLED display, larger batteries across both sizes, and new Galaxy AI-powered wellness features such as Energy Score, Vitals, Fitness Index, Daily Cardio Load and Heart Health Score. Available in both 40mm and 44mm sizes, Galaxy Watch 9 delivers a faster and smoother Wear OS experience while maintaining Samsung’s premium design, sapphire crystal protection and extensive Galaxy ecosystem integration. Premium Design Built for Everyday Comfort Samsung continues refining its smartwatch design with the Galaxy Watch 9. It retains the familiar circular design while improving durability and comfort for daily wear. Available in two sizes, the watch fits both users with smaller wrists and those who prefer a larger display. The 40mm model comes in Cream and Graphite, while the larger 44mm version is available in Silver and Graphite. The lightweight aluminium body is comfortable enough for all-day wear, whether you’re working, exercising, sleeping or travelling. Samsung also protects the display using durable Sapphire Crystal, making it more resistant to scratches from everyday use. Brighter Display That Remains Visible Outdoors Galaxy Watch 9 features Samsung’s vibrant Super AMOLED display protected by Sapphire Crystal. The biggest improvement is the display brightness, which now reaches an impressive 3,000 nits. This makes the screen significantly easier to read outdoors under direct sunlight compared to older Galaxy Watches. Whether checking workout data during a run or reading notifications while outdoors, text and graphics remain sharp and highly visible. The high-resolution display also produces vibrant colours, deep blacks and smooth animations, making navigation feel premium. Fastest Galaxy Watch Performance Yet The Galaxy Watch 9 introduces Samsung’s biggest smartwatch performance upgrade in years by becoming the first Galaxy Watch powered by the new Snapdragon® Wear Elite Platform. The new processor delivers noticeably faster performance across every aspect of the watch, including: Faster app launches Smoother scrolling Improved multitasking Quicker health calculations More responsive notifications Better power efficiency The upgraded chipset also improves AI processing directly on the watch, allowing Galaxy AI features to work faster while consuming less battery power. Navigation feels smoother, animations are more fluid and switching between Samsung Health, Google Maps, Samsung Wallet and other apps is significantly quicker than previous generations. Larger Battery with Better Endurance Samsung has increased battery capacity across both Galaxy Watch 9 models. 40mm Model: 390mAh battery 44mm Model: 445mAh battery This represents approximately a 20% battery increase compared to the Galaxy Watch 8 40mm model. The combination of larger batteries and the more efficient Snapdragon Wear Elite processor allows users to go longer between charges while using health tracking, GPS workouts and notifications. The improved battery life is especially useful for: Sleep tracking overnight Long workouts Business travel Weekend trips Continuous health monitoring You spend less time charging and more time using your smartwatch. Smarter Health Tracking with Galaxy AI Samsung has significantly expanded the health capabilities of Galaxy Watch 9 by introducing several new AI-powered wellness tools that provide more personalized insights rather than simply displaying raw data. Energy Score Energy Score analyzes your previous night’s sleep quality, heart rate during sleep and daily activity to estimate how prepared your body is for the day ahead. Instead of guessing whether you’re fully recovered, the watch provides an easy-to-understand score along with recommendations to help you manage your energy levels. Fitness Index The new Fitness Index evaluates your body composition, exercise history and fitness performance to generate a personalized fitness score. It also recommends workouts suited to your current fitness level, helping users train more effectively. Daily Cardio Load Daily Cardio Load measures the physical strain accumulated throughout the day. After intense exercise, Galaxy Watch 9 estimates your recovery needs and suggests when to rest before your next workout. This helps reduce overtraining while supporting better long-term fitness progress. Advanced Wellness Monitoring Galaxy Watch 9 continuously monitors multiple health metrics throughout the day. Using advanced sensors, the watch tracks: Heart Rate Heart Rate Variability (HRV) Blood Oxygen (SpO2) Skin Temperature Respiration Rate Sleep Quality Stress Levels Body Composition One of the newest additions is Heart Health Score, which evaluates sleep duration, BMI, blood pressure trends and vigorous activity levels to provide practical guidance for maintaining cardiovascular wellness. Rather than acting as a medical diagnosis, the feature encourages healthier daily habits through personalized recommendations. Galaxy AI Features Galaxy Watch 9 integrates Galaxy AI to make everyday interactions faster and more convenient. Raise to Talk with Google Gemini Simply raise your wrist to begin speaking with Google Gemini without touching the display. You can ask questions, create reminders, control smart devices, request directions or perform everyday tasks using natural voice commands. Smarter Personalized Insights Galaxy AI combines your health information with activity patterns to generate more useful daily recommendations instead of simply displaying raw statistics. This creates a more personalized smartwatch experience that adapts to your lifestyle over time. What Makes Galaxy Watch 9 Better Than Galaxy Watch 8?
