SanDisk Cruzer Glide USB Flash Drive Price in Kenya & Full Review The SanDisk Cruzer Glide USB Flash Drive price in Kenya ranges between KSh 1,400 – KSh 3,000Price range: KSh 1,400 through KSh 3,000 . It is a compact portable storage device designed for storing, transferring and carrying everyday files such as documents, photos, music and videos. It uses a USB 2.0 interface and features a retractable USB connector that slides into the body of the drive when it is not being used. The Cruzer Glide is available in capacities up to 256GB, giving users different options depending on their storage requirements. Its simple plug-and-play design allows files to be transferred using the normal drag-and-drop method without requiring additional drivers for standard use. Design and Build The Cruzer Glide uses a compact plastic body with a retractable USB connector. Instead of requiring a separate protective cap, the USB connector slides into the body of the flash drive when the drive is not connected to a device. This helps reduce the chance of losing a removable cap and protects the connector during transportation. The drive measures approximately 59.44 x 21.84 x 8.38mm and weighs about 9.07g. Its small size makes it practical to keep in a laptop bag, backpack, pocket or desk drawer. USB 2.0 Performance The SanDisk Cruzer Glide USB 2.0 uses the USB 2.0 interface. It is designed primarily for everyday storage and file transfer rather than high-speed transfers of very large files. Actual transfer speeds depend on the host computer, USB port, file sizes and other system conditions. SanDisk does not specify a single maximum sequential read or write speed for the current USB 2.0 Cruzer Glide on its product page. Therefore, it should not be advertised with an unsupported MB/s figure. Storage Capacities The current SanDisk Cruzer Glide USB 2.0 range is available in 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities. This gives users a choice between a smaller drive for documents and a larger capacity for extensive collections of photos, videos, music and other files. SanDisk’s documentation specifies 128-bit AES encryption for password protection of selected files. This is useful when the drive contains personal documents or other information that should not be openly accessible. SecureAccess is intended for protecting selected private files rather than automatically encrypting everything stored on the drive. Users should still maintain a separate backup of important data. File Transfer and Compatibility The Cruzer Glide is designed for straightforward drag-and-drop file transfer. Connect the drive to a compatible USB port and it can be accessed through the computer’s file management system for copying, moving and backing up files. SanDisk states that no additional drivers are required for normal drag-and-drop file transfer. The USB 2.0 model is intended for devices with a compatible USB port. It is particularly suitable for Windows computers, laptops and other equipment that supports USB mass-storage devices. Durability and Portability The small 9.07g body makes the Cruzer Glide easy to carry between home, office and school. The retractable connector is particularly useful for portability because the connector can be stored inside the drive when it is not connected to a computer. SanDisk specifies an operating temperature range of 0°C to 45°C for the current USB 2.0 model. Frequently Asked Questions Is the SanDisk Cruzer Glide USB 2.0 or USB 3.0? The Cruzer Glide discussed on this page is the USB 2.0 version. SanDisk also sells a separate Cruzer Glide 3.0 product with USB 3.0 connectivity, so the model number should be checked before purchase. What capacities does the SanDisk Cruzer Glide support? The current USB 2.0 Cruzer Glide is listed by SanDisk in 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities. Does the SanDisk Cruzer Glide have a retractable connector? Yes. The USB connector retracts into the body of the drive when it is not being used, helping protect the connector during storage and transportation. Does SanDisk Cruzer Glide support password protection? Yes. It supports SanDisk SecureAccess, which can be used to create a password-protected private folder. SanDisk specifies 128-bit AES encryption for the protected data. Is SanDisk Cruzer Glide good for storing photos and videos? Yes. It can be used to store photos, videos, music, documents and other files. However, because the USB 2.0 version is not designed as a high-speed flash drive, transferring very large video collections will generally take longer than with a modern USB 3.x drive. Can I use SanDisk Cruzer Glide on a USB 3.0 port? Yes. A USB 2.0 flash drive can be connected to a USB 3.x port, although the drive’s USB 2.0 interface remains the limiting factor for its transfer performance.
